Members of the Art Workshop of Western Sonoma County (AWS) will exhibit up to 40 paintings from early January possibly to late June, at the Laguna de Santa Rosa Foundation's Heron Hall. Opening reception: January 26, 2013, 1-4 pm

Please visit our Virtual Exhibition which defines the Renaissance of fine art printmaking following World War II. Seventy years of art, 160 images, drawn from the Ronald L. Ruble Collection, with a descriptive overview, provides the viewer an educational and enjoyable visit to witness key elements that changed Art History. Once a distant cousin to easel painting, printmaking today plays a vital role for artists worldwide. A few studio artist/printmakers and their successors fought to establish printmaking as a positive force in Contemporary American Art. This exhibit is a tribute to those that made it happen.

Ms. Suttle invites viewers to look in the eyes of our Mexican neighbors and connect with them. She has managed to capture a beauty and dignity that moves audiences to compassion and celebrates the resilience of a people who live in a contemporary world but come from an ancient culture. Her portraits feature indigenous Mayans from Chiapas, Mexico, located next to the border with Guatemala and individuals living in the mountain village of Tepehua near Lake Chapala in Jalisco, Mexico.

The Mill Street Gallery Cafe opens the 2013 season with lunches Tuesday to Saturday, 11:30 to 2:30pm. On display are paintings by Sally Chupick, Vera Donefer and vibrant mixed media works by Frankie Lemonde-Meunier. 613 376 1533. 4400 Mill Street, Sydenham, ON.

This promises to be an encore of last year's successful show, featuring four award winning artists, four distinct styles and interpretations of life, nature and travel. Come see local talent and meet the artists! Opening reception April 21st - 1:30 - 4:00pm.

*Celebrating African Grandmothers, heroes of the continent.* Opening May 8, 2013 - Exhibition tour: +18 venues Western Canada prior to gala auction New Westminster eve of International Women's Day, 2014. African grandmothers bury their own beloved children and, without time to grieve, lift the burden of care for their orphaned grandchildren. Royal City Gogos host touring art exhibit in support of these heroic women (expected to raise proceeds exceeding $100,000). Artists may choose to receive 50% of the proceeds from the sale of their work. Deadline for submissions March 1, 2013. All forms of art accepted.

Astound 2013 is a contemporary art exhibition organised by graduates from Leek College to promote individual creative art practices in Staffordshire Moorlands. The exhibition will encompass fine art, textiles, print making, photography and much more including various workshops for all ages. Open from Saturday 25th May - Saturday 15th June, 10am - 4pm. Closed Sundays and Bank Holidays.
